Rules of the Agape Recovery Outreach Residence Center

  • No smoking in bedrooms or in the non-smoking unit.
  • No inappropriate or loud noise.
  • No profanity.
  • No R- or X-rated movies to be rented or shown in the residence.
  • Assigned chores are to be done daily. No passes will be issued until chores are completed.
  • Take responsibility for personal belongings. Keep all personal items in an appropriate place.
  • Keep room clean and make up bed daily.
  • NO VIOLENCE, WEAPONS, ABUSIVE OR THREATENING LANGUAGE is allowed.
  • Curfew: Sun-Thurs., 11p.m.; Fri-Sat., 12 a.m.
  • Maximum time per phone call is 15 minutes.
  • No laundry done after 10 p.m.
  • For the first two weeks, residents are required to be on the buddy system, being accompanied by a peer when away from the unit. No overnight passes will be issued during the first two weeks of residence.
  • Overnight pass requirements must be filled out and turned in to a staff member by 10 p.m. on the night before the pass begins.
  • After two weeks of residence, each person must have a sponsor in recovery with a working knowledge of the 12 steps. Sponsors cannot be an employee or resident of Agape. The sponsor's name and telephone must be listed on the Meeting Attendance Sheet.
  • Attendance of Tuesday and Thursday community meetings is MANDATORY.
  • A minimum of six support group meetings must be attended weekly.
  • Attendance of a spiritual meeting is MANDATORY.
  • It is your responsibility to maintain an accurate and honest record of meeting attendance on the sheet provided. Sheets will be checked weekly. Falsifying a meeting sheet will result in immediate discharge!
  • Residents must live in the spirit of recovery and become a responsible member of the community while actively working in a 12-step recovery program. Your sobriety must be your number one priority ABOVE ALL ELSE including work, relationships, and every other concern.
  • In keeping with our mission, which is forming and building a strong foundation in the early stages of recovery, developing new relationships within 90 days will be grounds for dismissal.
  • NO alcohol or mood-altering drugs allowed. Knowledge of another resident's use and not reporting it to a staff member is grounds for dismissal. Expect random drug and alcohol screenings. First-time positive drug or alcohol screen will result in a 7-day suspension.
  • During any periods of unemployment, you must be out of the unit by 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and make at least 8 contacts looking for employment, verifiable by name and number.
  • Program fees are due each Friday. Rent payments made later than Saturday will attract $5 per day late charge, unless prior arrangements are made.
  • Upon arrival at Agape, each resident will be given a key to his residence. If this key is lost, there will be a $5 replacement charge.
  • No pagers or cell phones allowed unless approved by the Program Director.
  • Romantic involvement and/or sexual actions are prohibited. Residents suspected or who demonstrate romantic involvement will be discharged.
  • Sexual harassment will not be tolerated. Anyone suspected of this will be dismissed.
  • Visiting among residents in bedrooms is prohibited.
  • Staff facilities are off limits unless staff member is present.
  • Program rules and policies are NOT NEGOTIABLE!

Bedrooms

  • All beds must be made NEATLY each morning.
  • All clothes should be hanging in the closet or folded in the drawer.
  • All dresser and chest of drawer tops should be dusted and neatly kept.
  • All shoes should be kept in the closet.
  • No eating or smoking in bedrooms.
  • Units are inspected regularly.
