History of Agape Recovery Outreach, Inc.

After an honorable discharge from the United States Navy and after several failed attempts to acheive a life long dream of becoming a police officer, Lawrence Bryant turned to alcohol and later became addicted to drugs. After years of battling the disease of addiction with no success, Lawrence finally surrendered and asked for help. He entered a treatment center in North Georgia. After successfully completing the 12-step program, Lawrence became fascinated with the process of recovery.

He made a promise to God that he would dedicate his life to helping others in the battle with addictions. With multiple years of sobriety and several years of training under Dan Laird, M.Div., NCAC II, and having an Act of Providence, Lawrence was moved to create a program of recovery in Albany, Georgia. After writing and designing this program with the "working man" in mind, Agape Recovery Ministry was founded in 2000. With no support from any governmental or private agency, Lawrence saw a great need in his community for a long term drug and alcohol treatment center. With the support of a loving and caring wife and son, on August 1, 2000, Agape Recovery Residence opened its doors.

After several years in business, Agape Recovery has seen results with the consumers who have maintained sobriety. It is believed that Agape Recovery has one of the highest success rates in southwest Georgia, and endeavors to be one of the most successful long-term residential treatment center in the state. Agape Recovery is always striving to "Save the Community One Life at a Time."
